Matilda – what a great show, indeed, a Tony Award winning broadway show.  Jeremy Gerard, Bloomberg was right in saying ‘You won’t want to leave’: this summed up this show and New York city.  What a wonderful place…

Entered through the Stage Door, down a flight of stairs and through a short maze of thin corridors, down through the sound booth and deep into the dimly lit heart of the orchestra pit.

With headphones over our ears, to hear what the actors are doing on stage, and tv screens so the conductor and musicians can follow.  The microphones for the instruments are off when they are not playing, and with the conductor’s permission I was able to take non-flash hand-held photography of the musicians performing at work, while enjoying the show.

‘Brooklyn’ the movie : behind the scenes on set

Behind the movie scenes images at the filming of the movie ‘Brooklyn’

 

In Forte Green, Brooklyn, in front of the iconic brownstone buildings, 1950’s cars line one particular street, and several more retro vehicles drive on loop round the block. On this open movie set, they are filming the final romantic scene between the lead characters, in ‘Brooklyn’, a film adaptation of Colm Toibin’s New York Times best-seller book from a script by Nick Hornby.

Directed by Irish BAFTA-winning Director: John Crowley. The film includes a celebrity cast, staring Emory Cohen, Saoirse Ronan, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters.

‘Brooklyn’ the movie premiered at Sundance Jan 2015. ‘Brooklyn’ won ‘Outstanding British film’ in BAFTAS 2016.
