The above main image was published in The Guardian, Games, The Observer Feb ’15.

As Rob writes in the video game industry, I decided in postproduction to give this image a pixelated haunted look, to echo the feel of being a video game character:

This was the most ‘Blue Steel’ shot of the shoot, where he looks more like a model, then the award winning writer he is.

Hello! Magazine (Pakistan)

Samir had the luxury to choose which photography team she wanted to work with for her Editorial feature spread for Hello! Magazine.  Liaising with Samir and Hello Magazine (Pakistan) to get a clear idea of what we were aiming to shoot: images that showed Samir in her luxury Sloane Square apartment, giving viewers a sense of connection between the in and outside locations; giving viewers abroad a real understanding of Samir’s self expression through fashion and her IT girl life-style in London.

Hello Magazine had only planned to run 5 images in the feature spread; Hello Magazine were so happy with how the shots turned out, that they ran extra images: 7 in total, which made everyone on the team happy.

What a pleasure to be commissioned to produce celebrity portraits of Terry Jones and the art in his home, to illustrate for two different magazine feature articles: in Artists & Illustrators Magazine, and The Publican.

Terry Jones has a ‘photo-face’ that he always pulls when he gets in front of a camera (bit like my brother), that shot in the bag, I wanted more, so squatting down close to the floor to get him from a different angle and re-compose the garden in the background of the frame – he asked me if I was taking a picture of his knees & we both laughed – I captured him with a natural happy face.  It was a rare portrait photo of Terry, so I sent a framed print to him as a little thank you present. His PA contacted asking if they could use the image for his fan and PR photo, of course honored and happy to oblige.  Terry’s using the photo for his twitter account avatar.
